I tried a ricer for the first time this year with my Thanksgiving mashed potatoes (Tyler Florence recipe) - and they came out great! They were so smooth and creamy - and it was so easy. I would highly recommend this ricer - and Tyler's recipe - if you like smooth mashed potates. This ricer was easy to use and cleaned up so easy in the dishwasher.
I saw Alton Brown use this particular ricer so that was enough for me. Works great on potatoes! Will be trying it with other vegetables and fruits.
so easy to use i bought another one for my sister
I recently broke both of my wrists and my hands have never been the same. My old ricer took too much pressure to use. Saw this on featured on the show Cook's Country and gave it a try. It's just what I needed. Much lighter than my old one and easy to use not to mention a great price. I love it!
Very satisfied with the way I was treated on the phone and in the product received (ricer).
Lots of bang for the buck
I have looked for over a year in the local area and saw this on TV. It is exactly what I had been looking for and does what I want without flaw.
As a teenager I worked in a hospital kitchen. We made riced potatoes almost every day of the week. Riced the potatoes into a big pan, poured melted butter over, then baked in the huge ovens. Wow! Couldn't ask for a better nostalgia trip than this! Love it!
I overfilled first couple of times, but when not overfilled it was easy to use, and gave consistent results.
We've used the ricer one time so far, but the initial review is very positive. It is sturdy, although it is almost all plastic (reason it didn't get a 5). Very little potato left behind in the "cylinder". It comes with two disks for processing other foods. The final product was smooth, even and easy to blend with other mashed potato ingredients.
This ricer was recommended by Cook's Illustrated. It made the lightest gnocchi and mashed potatoes. It held an entire cup and was easy to squeeze.
Recommended by America's Test Kitchen and I agree! Used it to rice potatoes for perfect gnocchi.
I really like the ease of use of this potato ricer. It does the job at a good price. No more lumpy mashed potatoes.
I had never used a ricer before, I had always made mashed potatoes with my hand mixer. The potatoes my daughters and I made with this ricer were amazing! It is simple to use and simple to clean. A few potatoes did come up over the sides, but not too many. Even my 10 year old daughter loved using it. Price for value, it can't be beat!
I like this product. It does not hold enough potatoes,so you have to keep loading it. I tried to change out the blade and I could not do it. I will read the instructions again.
Excellent product-very easy to use.
Hard to use. Easily slips off bowl.
Works very well. I was quite pleased with the results and it was easy to clean.
great potato ricer
there is no wonder that the current edition of Cook's Illustrated place this ricer as their top pick and most recommended. excellent tool, great leverage, quality construction and the price is very reasonable as a bonus!!
